Mountain Borders Associates (MBA) specializes in sales and service to STAFDA, contractors' supply, industrial MRO distributors, farm and ranch supply, electrical, hardware, internet retailers, safety, insulation, and the automotive aftermarket channels of distribution. We provide a full range of associated services to the customer base, including: detailed sell through plans with product knowledge, sales and training seminars, job site demonstrations, sell through flyers, spiffs and field sales personnel training.

Kevin Kennedy

President

Kevin brings 20+ years of experience in the Industrial Construction industry, including working for two Fortune 500 companies. He began his career with Dewalt Power Tools and rose quickly through the sales and marketing ranks to become a Regional Sales Manager. While at Dewalt he was recognized as a Top Performer in the North American Sales Group. Several senior executives left Dewalt during the .com era to pursue a new business venture. Kevin was recruited by these executives and for two years learned how to operate in a small business atmosphere. He then went back into the construction industry at Newell Rubbermaid where he became an Area Sales Manager and later Director of Sales. While at Newell Rubbermaid, he won the top regional sales manager award two consecutive years in a row. Kevin was also awarded Presidents Council and the prestigious Pinnacle Award. The Pinnacle Award is given to only six individuals within North American sales across all channels of distribution. Through all of this success Kevin was able to take on many different leadership responsibilities. Some of those responsibilities included being the lead between Newell Rubbermaid and the Evergreen Marketing Group and Sphere 1 buying group. These experiences have helped immensely in Kevin's understanding of both the manufacturer's and the distributor's needs.

Kevin graduated from the University of Delaware where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a double major in Marketing and Management.

In his 15+ years of experience within the Industrial Construction industry, Tom has a distinguished career of rapid promotions to positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and sales management. Tom spent eight years with Newell Rubbermaid, where he quickly learned of the value in being an expert on his products. He was also a member of the inaugural IRWIN Certified Trainer program. This product expertise helped Tom as he led the Field Product Specialist team in the Western U.S. This field team focused on taking the products and brands to the end user on industrial (MRO), commercial and residential construction sites. This job site program helped deliver solid sales results for the partnering distributors. This approach provided Newell Rubbermaid valuable product and marketing information from firsthand experience. Tom also had an opportunity to launch an entirely new program into the Industrial Construction channel as a business development manager within the Dymo group. Tom led the efforts to introduce and establish the RHINO Industrial label printer line of products into the MRO and STAFDA channels across the United States, Canada and Mexico. This position enabled Tom to work closely with distributors and marketing groups across the United States. Tom has built his career in putting the customer first and understanding their needs. This focus has helped Tom receive several awards during his career including: Legacy Award Recipient, Sales Representative of the Year and Manager of the Year.

Tom is a graduate of Portland State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
